What To Pack For The Land Of Fire & Ice
The Ship Ahoy group’s 2022 Landlocked Event in Iceland is fast approaching. In preparation for our trip to this nordic gem in the northwest, here’s All Aboard Ship Ahoy’s packing guide to help you stay warm in the land of fire and ice.
Before we begin, here are a few things you should know:
- During all seasons, the weather in Iceland can change quite rapidly; it is possible that you may experience all four seasons in one day.
- November marks the beginning of Iceland’s winter season. Temperatures during this month range between 8°C and 1°C (46°F and 33°F).
- Due to the mass deforestation caused by the Norse settlers from 800AD, trees are scarce in the country, which can cause the rain to fall horizontally.
It is essential that before you travel to Iceland, you invest in suitable clothing that will keep you dry and warm as you explore the country. Layering your clothes is ideal as it will allow you to modify your attire to suit the range of temperatures you may experience during the day.

Ricky & AndreaHi all, whilst sitting at my desk this morning with holiday blues, the track Valerie by Amy Winehouse was played on the radio. I had to restrain myself from breaking into my freshly taught routine. It brought a smile to my face. Thanks for the memories guys, special thanks to the All Aboard management crew for making it happen. Keep doing what you do. Looking forward to next year!
Karen DGail, I'm sure I speak for all the seniors when I say how wonderful it was to be part of such caring, sharing group of people. It was a most memorable holiday. Hope to have other great times in the future. You do pull out all the stops. Thanks again.
Mrs Harriette KI am so thankful to Gail and family for giving me and my wife the opportunity to have one amazing, unforgettable cruise experience in a beautiful village setting before my back and legs give up. Tubing on the river was a truly memorable experience. May the Village continue to grow in health, unity and prosperity. God bless you all.
Mr Ernell LBack in the place we live, but not in the All Aboard Ship Ahoy village of family and friends that feels like home! Peace and Joy.
